Nomination & Application
Requirements for incoming exchange students
You are nominated by one of our partner universities, or apply as a Free Mover.
You have a B2 level of English based on the CEFR standards. See English requirements.
You have completed your 1st year of studies at bachelor level (coming from a three-year program) or your 2nd year of studies at bachelor level (coming from a four-year program).
You are at least 18 years old.
Nomination Process
- Deadline April 30th
- The directions and nomination form template are sent directly to partners in March.
- In the nomination form, we only require partners to inform us of their students’ personal details and contact information. No other documents are necessary at that time.
Application Process
- Deadline May 31st
- The directions and the link to the application are sent directly to students after the nomination deadline has passed.
- To complete the application, students need to submit the following documents:
1. Copy of an official transcript from the home institution
2. Recent passport-sized photo
3. Housing registration form
4. Proof of English proficiency (see details here)
- Acceptance letters are sent to students and home university coordinators after we review the student’s application
Immigration & Insurance
Practical Information
- For a temporary study period in the Netherlands, nationals from countries outside the European Union need an entry visa/residence permit.
- Nyenrode will apply for the residence permit as they are your sponsor. You cannot apply for a residence permit by yourself.
- The current fee for a study permit is EUR 228.
- Insurance is compulsory in the Netherlands. You are required to arrange a valid health & travel insurance for the full duration of your stay in the Netherlands.
- Your Dutch student visa allows you to work up to 16 hours a week.
